Der Tanz hat sich einen sicheren Platz inmitten der Theaterlandschaft verschafft und ist doch gleichermaßen immer wieder die am meisten gefährdete Sparte. Über die bisherigen Ausgaben des Journals hinausgehend, bettet der Film die aktuelle deutsche Tanzlandschaft stark in den Kontext der europäischen Situation des Metiers ein. In acht Kapiteln richtet sich der Blick auf die ästhetischen Entwicklungen im Tanz.
